RAE started with three friends who grew up on the beaches of Queensland, living in the sun.

Now in our 30s — one designer and two engineers — we started thinking a little differently about our skin. We wanted something that could help repair the effects of the life we’d already lived, while supporting the way our skin heals and ages from here.

So we made it.

Photobiomodulation has been used in clinical settings for more than 40 years, across applications including wound healing, pain management and skin repair. The science was already there. And increasingly, so was the technology to bring it home.

The question for us was: why wasn’t the best version of it already in our cupboards?

We set out to build the device we wanted to own, without cutting corners. Medical-grade silicone. Four carefully selected wavelengths. High-performance technology. A considered form that belongs on the counter, not hidden in a drawer.

No expense spared where it matters. No unnecessary complexity where it doesn’t.

We’ve brought together some of the best red and near-infrared light technology available and made it accessible here in Australia — designed to support recovery, repair and healthier-looking skin as we age.

We’re based in Brisbane. We’re a small team. And RAE is personal to us.

We made it for our own skin first.
